A Texas Chainsaw Massacre-Inspired Senior Session | Bastrop | Texas

A Senior Session at the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Gas Station & Cemetery

This past Thanksgiving break, I had the pleasure of shooting a senior session that was unique and tailored to my client.  Alex’s mom reached out to me from San Antonio with the fun idea to incorporate Alex’s love for the classic horror film Texas Chainsaw Massacre into her senior portraits. Alex and her family drove in from San Antonio to shoot at the gas station where part of the film was shot. When I heard the plan, I was excited – I knew this session was going to be different, fun and memorable.

We met at the gas station, which is located just outside of Bastrop, Texas. I drive past this spot several times a week but I had never thought of it as a location for a senior session. It did not disappoint and the vibe was perfect for Alex’s personality! Although the old green van from the movie had unfortunately been moved when we arrived, we still got some awesome and unique shots. We then headed to a nearby cemetery to capture some more moody images.

What I loved most about this shoot was how unique and personal it was to Alex. Senior photos are meant to capture who the person is at this point in their life, and these locations definitely spoke to Alex’s love for horror history and her vibe. It reminded me how much I enjoy getting creative with each session. I’m so glad Alex and her mom trusted me to help bring their vision to life! Her mom texted me after she saw her images, and said, "They're SO GOOD! You really outdid yourself. Thank you for capturing her so well!"

If you’re thinking about doing something a little out of the ordinary for your senior session, I’m all for it! Let’s capture your story in a way that’s truly unique to you. Whether it’s a favorite hobby, location, or passion, I’d love to help make your session as special as you are. Let’s make it happen!
