What time of day will the photoshoot happen?
For outdoor sessions, I tend to shoot in the late afternoon/evening to get the prettiest, most flattering light. I try to avoid midday sunshine whenever possible, but if we have no other option (say for mid day prom photos), we will find a nice shady area. For in-home shoots, I aim for late morning.
Where do we have our photoshoot?
For outdoor "country" sessions, I offer two private properties that you can choose from. These are both located just outside of Smithville, TX. Both locations are beautiful and I can recommend one over the other based on your group and desires for the session. Many of the images in my galleries were taken on my two private properties. I can also come to your property if you have a good location in mind. Bastrop and Smithville also offer adorable downtown areas that are fun for a more urban feel. I will travel across Texas to you with a travel fee. For newborns, I currently do not have a studio so I do newborn/baby sessions as in-home shoot for a lifestyle approach.
What should we wear for the photoshoot?
The main thing is that you (mama!) feel comfortable. I can send you some guidance when you start planning your session.
I am not sure about an in-home shoot? My house is a mess!
I get it but that’s real-life! You can do a quick tidy up but don't worry about over doing it. In the future years, you will look back at your photographs and remember the fleeting, special time that it really was. The "mess" will remind you of a home well lived. For in-home newborn shoots, I use mainly small areas near windows, the baby's room, and possibly a bed. So the whole house does not have to be organized and picked up. I will move things out of the way if I think something needs to be moved out of the frame. For little ones, I love to capture snapshots of the favorite lovey or toy, the growth chart on the doorframe, all of the things that make our homes home! I promise one day you will look back and treasure your in-home session.
What if it rains?
We will reschedule it if needed due to our lovely unpredictable Texas weather! If its just a spot of drizzle or not a sunny day, we will likely still go ahead. However if its heavy rain or super dark and dreary, we will need to rearrange things.
Do you offer digitals and products?
I do offer just digitals! I have digital packages and also combo packages with digitals and high quality professional products such as books, albums, wall art, etc.
