Senior Session in Downtown San Marcos, Texas | Senior Photographer in Central Texas

I drove from Smithville, Texas to meet Belle in San Marcos for her senior photos before she heads off to Texas A&M in the fall. I've known Belle and her family for years. Her mom and sister came along, which made everything more fun. Her sister helped out behind the scenes and kept things light (check out my favorite BTS of Libby at the end of the gallery), and her mom was there cheering her on the whole time — supportive energy that mamas are just really good at doing.

We spent the afternoon wandering around downtown San Marcos without trying to make everything feel overly posed or perfect. We had no particular spots pre-arranged and those often end up my favorite images! Downtown San Marcos has the small town feel still with historic storefronts, unique local businesses, and fun alleys that make some of the best photo spots! There's so much variety within a few blocks. As a San Marcos senior photographer, I love getting to photograph seniors in locations that feel personal and reflect who they are.’

One stop we had planned was Sundance Records, a longtime downtown San Marcos staple. The vintage feel and eclectic atmosphere made it the perfect fit for Belle's personality. At first I wasn’t totally sure how the lighting would work in there since it's a small, darker area, but it ended up being one of those spaces that works if you just go with it. It fit her perfectly — laid back, nostalgic, and really true to her personality
