As I’ve been going back through past sessions to finally get more of them up on the blog😎, I kept coming back to this one. I’ve wanted to share it for the longest time because it was such a sweet and genuine lifestyle newborn session in this family's home in Bastrop, Texas.
There’s something really special about getting to photograph a family in the comfort of their own home — especially during a season that already moves by so quickly. This lifestyle newborn session in Bastrop, Texas felt extra special because their baby girl was a little older than the typical newborn stage. She was already smiling, taking in the world around her, and showing off so much personality throughout the session. I honestly love sessions like this because there’s a little more interaction, movement, and connection naturally happening.
We kept the session completely baby-led and relaxed, letting moments unfold naturally instead of forcing anything overly posed. Some of my favorite moments came from the quiet in-between interactions — mom soaking her in, dad playing guitar while they all snuggled, and their baby girl smiling right back at them.
One of the best parts about in-home lifestyle newborn sessions is that they don’t require perfection. You don’t need a picture-perfect house or perfectly curated spaces. All we really need is a little natural light, a cozy spot to settle in, and the people you love most.
