Best Locations for Senior Pictures in Bastrop, Texas

Senior year deserves more than cookie-cutter photos. One of the reasons I love being a Bastrop senior photographer is the incredible variety of locations we have right here in our own backyard. Whether you're drawn to historic downtown charm, natural scenery, or something completely unique, Bastrop offers beautiful settings that help tell your story.

If you're planning your senior pictures in Bastrop, Texas, here are some of my favorite locations to create images that feel authentic, stylish, and uniquely you.

Historic Downtown Bastrop

Downtown Bastrop is one of the best locations for senior pictures in Bastrop, Texas because every corner offers something unique. The historic buildings, brick-lined streets, colorful storefronts, and rich textures create a timeless backdrop that works beautifully for just about any style.

For seniors coming from nearby Austin and other Central Texas areas, it also offers a much more laid-back, less crowded experience compared to busier city locations. Sessions here feel relaxed and unhurried, which makes it easier to settle in, have fun, and just be yourself in front of

the camera.

Some of the most popular images from my senior sessions come from these simple downtown spots. Brick walls, alleyways, and textured backdrops create a subtle editorial feel that photographs beautifully without taking attention away from you. These locations pair beautifully with everything from dresses and heels like you see Ava wearing here, to graduation cap and gown, or a styled senior look from the adorable boutique Sage & Co right off Main St. The neutral tones keep the focus on you while still adding depth, contrast, and character to every image.

Whether you're going for trendy and modern or classic and sophisticated, downtown Bastrop gives us endless variety within a single session. One of the biggest advantages is that we can create a wide range of looks without ever needing to drive far. And if we do want to add variety, locations like Fisherman’s Park or the Bastrop Convention Center, are just a quick, super short drive away.

The Painted Porch Book Shop

For seniors who love books, creativity, and all things unique, The Painted Porch Book Shop offers a fun and memorable setting. The colorful shelves, cozy atmosphere, and artistic vibe create portraits that feel personal and full of personality.

I love incorporating locations that reflect who my seniors are, and this charming local bookstore provides the perfect backdrop for readers, writers, and anyone looking for something a little different from traditional senior portraits.

Fisherman's Park

If you're looking for a more natural setting, Fisherman's Park is one of Bastrop's best gems for senior portraits. The open spaces, river views, walking paths, and beautiful light make it an ideal location for seniors who want a softer, more relaxed feel. During golden hour, the sunlight filtering through the trees creates the dreamy, glowing look that I'm known for and is just gorgeous!

Fisherman's Park also offers plenty of variety, allowing us to capture both wide scenic portraits and more close-up images during the same session.

Roses Near the Bastrop Convention Center

When the roses are in bloom, the area around the Bastrop Convention Center becomes one of my favorite spots for adding color and elegance to a senior session. The flowers provide a beautiful contrast to senior outfits and the golden light in the background is so pretty. At first glance, you wouldn't think it makes a great spot for senior photos, but when the roses are blooming, it’s one of my favorite spots for senior pictures in Bastrop.
